Welcome to the One More Day Organization Website--Healing the World One Person at a Time
Our Mission Statement
"In our organization we will heal our wounds with the support of God and one another. We will use the courage that is stored inside of us to fight the demons that hinder us from performing the works that will benefit our society and ourselves. We are aware that we possess great potential, and we will work hard to break the chains of addiction and pain, while learning new and positive ways to cope with the stresses of everyday life. We will heal the world one person at a time"
The OMD Purpose
One More Day Organization shall provide a warm environment where people live their lives as victims, reacting to events and everyday stressors can unite and talk about thoughts and feelings with others going through similar issues, while recieving support and encouragement by learning skills to help improve their situations, and better the condition of their personal lives.
Who Is Welcome?
Membership in One More Day is open to any and all persons in the community. It is a non-descriminating organization and welcomes anyone from anywhere!
When and Where are Support Group Meetings?
After a brief hiatus, support group meetings will restart in October 2006. The specific date will be posted shortly. There will also be fliers being passed out. The meetings will be held on Thursdays from 7-8pm at New Bethel Baptist Church located at 9305 St. Clair Ave. For more info call 216-870-6998. All are Welcome! To clarify: just because our sessions are held at a church does not mean we will be having a church service. Until we are able to get our own headquarters we use the church to hold our sessions.
Let me welcome our new OMD Staff.
Annie Jones as our new Administrative SecretaryAssistant. She is no stranger to OMD. She has been a member since the start and has proven during our various projects that she has a hunger to learn as well as to teach and give back to the community.
We welcome Maxwell Conners as our Public Relations Manager, he shows through his words and actions how he can help those in need. He is an important factor in OMD for he will help market and get others to join and become interested in our organization.
And last but certainly not least Jennifer Lumpkin who is our Sponsor Specialist which is probably the most important position. Without sponsors we will be unable to exist, for they will give us money to continue reaching people and enable us to get the resources we need. Jennifer is an agile young woman who is full of energy with a degree and experience working with people. She has done various work in Thailand as well as the U.S. I am truly blessed to have such a staff that is willing and able to help.
